Is exiting visual mode through `v` still the preferred workaround?

Is it the same problem when navigating to an URL? When going to for example http://localhost:5000/?q=test+test the url suddenly http://localhost:5000/?q=test%2Btest Thats the way in 2.0.0 as well..

Any progress/ideas regarding this one?
