No, it is not numpy version specific. It might be caused by OpenBLAS. @rdp-dn, what BLAS implementation is your numpy-1.11 using? And what is your numpy-1.12 using? OpenBLAS-backed numpy hangs...
I can confirm @rohgarg 's observation that dmtcp-2.5.2 fails for R on glibc-2.25. It stopped me from upgrading to glibc-2.25.

Yes, it can be reproduced by c611a052b6ed3ade2b. I have run git bisect between c611a052b6 (bad) and tag 2.5.0 (good).
