Doing a `git bisect` between v2.4.0 and v2.5.0 it looks like this is the breaking commit: https://github.com/golden-layout/golden-layout/commit/11f2640e2ca077e7fb3f49669bfafd0f0e9ebbd3

Did a quick test of PR #777 and tab positioning looks good.
