Is this casting HTML5 media? The playback isn't affected locally unless you enable syncing (though I think that's broken right now). It should be playing sound from the Chromecast, though....

@JonnyTSpeed It sounds like you're casting the screen/tab, rather than the YouTube app. Have you got YouTube whitelisted and are you casting via the button on the YouTube player toolbar?
