@drewvolz should we close this MR? Or is it still valuable?

Enough of the implementation has changed that I feel confident in saying that we will no longer have infinite alerts.

Plus it would let us test more of the app… yeah, we should really do this.

Idea: put a "demo mode" button in settings (or at the bottom of the Home Screen?)

My only worry is that since we don't allow email addresses… but I guess we could special-case "[email protected]"?
