I can reproduce this behavior if I disconnect from WiFi as described here: https://github.com/microsoft/wslg/issues/1092

Is this the same problem as described [here](https://superuser.com/questions/1474559/wsl2-x11-programs-disappear)? In any case, my current workaround is to save this script and run ~/revive.sh or something like that to get my windows...
