I have tested this on a Lumia 950xl. I have no other real devices at hand. In my tests it didn’t feel like the phone was waiting for anything.

A quick fix would be waiting for the data to be saved before redirecting the user and showing a spinner. Would that be good enough? I haven't looked at the...
