Try searching for the tablet keyword in the chrome://flags page to see if there are some experimental flags you want, and if so, you can turn them on.
Please check your system configuration and the browser extensions and experimental flags you are currently using.
Even with this flag turned on, some icons are still found to be colored, which is intentional.
