I think we have implemented most of this. Let's open a new ticket for other things like #100.

Have you considered making use of the [official F-Droid libraries](https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/tree/master/libs#f-droid-libraries) for this? At least the minimal index library should be helpful.
