handle different versions of hymns

Open eroux opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

The version of the hymn should be indicated in the file name. The versions currently in the corpus are (supposedly) the current official version from the Vatican, and should be those of the Te decet hymnus by Anselmo Lentini. Some hymns have different versions in the 1934 Antiphonale Monasticum for instance. So maybe the filename could be:

three first words.X.txt

where X is:

  • TDH for hymns coming from the Te decet hymnus
  • AM for the 1934 Antiphonale Monasticum

etc., documenting the list of sources.

An indication on the type of hymn would probably be good too, we should just find a proper way to indicate them in the filename. Once we have the type of hymn, we know the number of verse each line should have, and thus we can syllabify almost entirely automatically...

You might want to clarify what you mean by "type" of hymn. "Type" can be mean a number of things in this context.

sorry, I meant the metrics, like 8.8.8.8, etc. they have names, we can certainly use these names
