I prefer not to disable validation, so for any problematic links I add a wayback machine version of the link. They pass the validation even though they contain the same...

I have this too. Workaround for me was: Settings > YouPiP > Disable PiP for Mini Player

Did you force quit and restart the app after changing the setting?
