It would help to have a screenshot, but my suggestion would be to switch to Avogadro2. We are no longer maintaining 1.2.

Compiling Error on a Manjaro-Machine

I think you're trying to compile Avogadro 1.2 with Open Babel 3.x, which broke backward compatibility.

I'm not going to implement anything in 1.2, but I have the code to do this in Avo 2.0 (i.e. table selections can be copied, etc.)
