I do not have any direct comments on the implementation. Paneltab requires a restart, maybe mention with tooltip. Usage should be mentioned in the tooltip, if panel toggle to see....

The button uses more space with this, not sure I want that... No comment on the implementation.

When typing in the filter, the filter closes after entering the first character, filtering the list (but not selecting in the list). So I cannot use the filter.

This occur if the list is close to be as long as the window. If I have 50 items in the list, I have the problem but not with 45...
