To make a point about how painful this is, I configure s3fs to run pjdfstest this way: ``` prove -rv \ ../../pjdfstest/tests/chflags/*.t \ ../../pjdfstest/tests/chmod/0[4689].t \ ../../pjdfstest/tests/chmod/10.t \ ../../pjdfstest/tests/chown/0[4689].t \ ../../pjdfstest/tests/chown/10.t...
I guess the rust rewrite never panned out. Does anything block merging this PR?

Newer versions of the Java SDK fix this: aws/aws-sdk-java#590
I have thought about this for S3Proxy as one of my applications consumes SQS events and I cannot model this currently. This is a really niche use case but it...
General observation, using s3-tests with fake-s3 would answer these kinds of questions. S3Proxy uses it for regression testing.
I dislike these jarring colors -- could we display a status icon next to the ellipses when the user has a wide screen like a tablet instead?
Sounds good for tablets although phones have a limited space for the clue.
@byronigoe Opening individual issues are easier to address than omnibus ones like this. Your suggestions seem valid but will take a long time to fix.
