In my case I don't use `marshmallow` and I'm just interested in dropping `None` values when encoding with `to_json` function

I can confirm, that the steps described by @kevin-brown are accurate. Additionally, scrolling fixes the "touch" selection issue on my devices too. The only thing, which I'm not sure about...
