Sorry for the late reply... Unfortunately it is not that easy - a 1:1 back to back conversion between asciidoc and DocBook that always produces the same results is not...
It is possible to open a resulting file with xdg-open directrly from the makefile, but daps (or rather make) then will wait for the xdg-open process to terminate before it...
