@camillalund @cthio - Unsure if this issue should even exist under this repo. If the model.json doesnt even return the appliedCssClassNames property, perhaps the issue is with the sling model...

@samuelgomezvaltech - I was looking for something like this a while back and endedup writing a wrapper component that does the check for me. However I suggest a small change....
