Pass $ into closure. $ should can be jQuery or Zepto. This will fix any situations where $ is not a jQuery compatible library (ex: prototype.js).

Does not work on lynx

It doesnt appear as though the -lynx-animation property is working properly in lynx. Using Lynx Version 2.8.7rel.2 installed on OSX using homebrew.
