Running a background tasks would only be possible as foreground service (persistent notification in the notification center), everything else gets killed by the OS. This would cause quite some battery...

I have successfully used the `GeoJson` workaround meanwhile... From my side this issue can be closed, but as I far as I understood @Conengmo we might want to track this...

Side note "Settings | Map | Rendering | Performance" (which seem to be the default) was already enabled in Cruiser while recording the videos
Our toggle talking works while screen is off since PR https://github.com/cgeo/cgeo/pull/13085. In short, foreground services can access the GPS location, even if c:geo is running in background. Something like this...
