Not working on Python3

Is there much involved to get this working on Ubuntu 20.04 with Python3?

Works well for me on a RPi4B, but no luck getting it to run on the Ubuntu VM that handles the rest of my home automation.

Oh true yeah I mostly code on python2 could you installs python2 there ? I don’t have a python 3 version at moment just used rp4
