Ready for merge. It fixes the consistent test failures. The etcd race is not yet addressed, but will be easier to debug, and actual regressions will be more visible again.
FWIW, **without** data passing, this could really only store HTTP responses to files. In this case, it would probably be awkward that this is an alternative way to manage files.
