Thanks...when I run sudo systemctl status virtualgps from terminal it tells me the service is active running...which is the strange thing. However the GPS panel just flashes with waiting ...

Also just in case I've tried sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrage to be sure this was not to issue, but it did not solve the problem
