I don't think this is a problem with the nsenter connection plugin, but with the hostname module (or maybe even the action of changing the hostname through nsenter in general)....

Same as https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.dns/issues/263#issuecomment-3013987026, it's not time yet to test against stable-2.19 or close this issue.
Closing since ansible-core 2.19.0 is out by now, and so far everything looks good.
