Seems like there hasn't been much activity on this in a while, but this is great!

You can do syntax hilighting in groovy mode - https://github.com/Groovy-Emacs-Modes/groovy-emacs-modes which auto highlights .gradle files after install. It is called `groovy-mode` in melpa.

Any feedback on this? It would be real nice for those of us looking to re-trigger routing over the same path.

Trying to reproduce this - What version(s) of clojure+java is this on?

Not yet - will look into it soon. Was it the new Clojure version that triggered it this time?

I don't believe either makes a difference - Clojure version change might be a red herring, but I'll see if I can reproduce it under the same environment.
