I think it is related with the snap/selection feature: the "search radius" seems to be in real units (those specified as drawing units) where we expect it to be pixel...

I cannot reproduce this. The test in the block is not mirrored but disappeared. Switching ON/OFF Draft mode did not change. Saving, closing and re-opening did not change either. ...
I agree with @dellus. The process would be smoother and easier for newcomers. We could have one print menu in which we set up the print/export and then print/export.
