it seems as though that is what defines what the cobalt website returns, the api should ideally send an error code and the website shows whatever information should be shown...
I'd say somewhere in the image would be fine, for example:

you do realise that the web part.. has to talk to the api, right? and for it to do that, it has to expose the password to the user, right?...
