Tagging @darincomeau @njeffery - We are planning to update the precision of all constants in the code - this will impact the MPAS-SI/ ICEPACK constants as well as HES/SORRM configurations.
This is still being tested in the E3SM V3 LR configuration.... however, if this can go in with the HR runs being done and the SORRM configuration testing - please...
A very similar issue is occurring with E3SM+WW3 coupled simulations on perlmutter. It takes over 45 minutes to initialize the wave model with the current settings. This problem with WW3...

@ndkeen - I'm pretty sure WW3 IS, in fact, reading the entire file with each task. not good.
