@baagaard-usgs I fully support this idea. To try to get this done as efficiently as possible, I think we need to try to develop a plan to divvy up tasks.

@hadigh I just want to clarify: You want this as a metric, e.g., the max absolute amplitude of the Wood-Anderson response? Not the waveform doesn't need to be stored, right?

Additionally, we had bugs in how velocity and displacement were getting treated in the dmg v2 format. So I disabled those but I think it makes sense to address this...
