I would also be interested in contributing, how does #51 fit in here and what's the status on merging it?

Changing the exec line to `Exec=sh -c 'sleep 2 && megasync &'` along with [this](https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/) systray extension resolves this.

There's already a global check for ripgrep [here](https://github.com/doomemacs/doomemacs/blob/master/lisp/cli/doctor.el#L94) so I wonder if there should probably just be an additional check there for grep
