This would require someone with knowledge of macOS and dbus. And yes, the rewrite uses up to date python packaging that has better chance to work cross-platform.

Congratulations ! It would be great to make the installation process work on mac as well, but meanwhile, this [workaround](https://github.com/projecthamster/hamster/issues/552#issuecomment-585166000) might be useful, to work without any installation.

The "save" part (https://github.com/projecthamster/hamster/issues/265) seems fixed. And the `~/.gconf/apps/hamster-time-tracker` permissions are correct now (as of d15e153a88552fc4a5388433f4334a105ac6f129). Changing the label from `bug` to `enhancement`.
