Should the framework automatically mask such failures? Maybe exposing the option to retry rather than making it the default would be a better approach.

I had meant a command line flag, but I guess consistency is good too. :) Doe this only affect stdout, or also the log files as well?

Any chance you'd consider an external contribution for the feature? Granted it would be a pretty significant change, and I'd expect some effort hashing out the API for it...
