@daghf tested it and told me it compiles and works generally fine. I would rather artificially prevent this behavior first and consider allowing it when we have a strong case...

As I said in https://github.com/varnishcache/varnish-cache/issues/3259#issuecomment-817792117 I think that departing from using the state machines and their steps to map read/write scopes of symbols is a bad idea.

Is there a chance you could share one complete panic report? Do you need a private channel?
