The issue is that Termbox is using waf version 2.0.14. It looks like this issue has been fixed in waf 2.1.2: https://gitlab.com/ita1024/waf/blob/master/ChangeLog I've opened an issue in termbox: https://github.com/nsf/termbox/issues/136
