There is https://github.com/sparksuite/codemirror-spell-checker but I haven't tried to implement it. The Markdown editor uses CodeMirror for the editor portion so this should apply.
Having this same issue. It looks like this might just happen if you try to drag an image from a browser (i.e. image open in another tab) vs. an image from the local filesystem....
This also happens with titles that contain an apostrophe, ' , so it probably happens with other escapable characters too.
