Maybe it's even driven by the hardware. I suggest to add the feature as experimental and left the users tweak the parameters.

Original pinch action never worked very well. But, it seems to me that it does not work anymore. Can it be caused by the extension? Or the problem is somewhere...

I'm experiencing a similar problem with google translate app: 

How do you zoom the UI? e.g. the menu font size?

I'm interested in the desktop version on Wayland Linux (flatpack) and unfortunately the workaround does not work (actually it has a strange effect that make the UI unusable).
