Yeah looks to be a yarn only issue, you might be right that it is just a yarn error.

Getting Error on gem install

Not sure if this helps but found this on [stackoverflow](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13548007/failing-to-install-ruby-gem-yajl-ruby) I am on a mac but am using RVM so not sure it's the permissions issue they mention.
