I ran into the same issue while trying to resolve setuptools update / build update build issues in factory.

The datasheet for SH3x specifies a resolution of 0.015 °C, and a range of -40°C to +90°C. so our temperature calculation should be below 0.015 of error in these ranges...

https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/pull/15261 is now merged, I guess we could switch to it and test this (and get it over the hump)?
I think we should simply stop publishing when there are failed builds? I'm not sure what hte cutoff of 7 days is solving?
so if I understand this correctly. the only goal of the whole logic is to make the checkbox "red" rather than "green" in the botmaster listing/graph. how about we change...

@dmach are you planning to work on this? Many osc 1.x.fixes have been merged already. Not sure if there's still something that needs to be done?
