I can confirm this happens on Mac and Linux (Pop OS) machines as well when the theme is 'system'

This also fixes #1799 - I was about to submit an identical PR.

Related to issue #1799 - this is also resolved in a more complete way in PR #1823

This seems to be intended to address #1800, but is not acting on the correct element. This issue is also addressed in PR #1821.
