Was there ever a solution found to this? I'm encountering the same issue & my dataset involves elements with >1M.
This issue was made for handling the scenario where thebananostand.com is served from vault.banano.cc domain, so that users do not have an uninterrupted transition.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to host this site on the same subdomain as vault, so this story doesn't seem necessary.
