I could be wrong, but I think that setting is for line length, not total number of lines. At any rate, setting it to zero did not change this.

Me too, I thought I was losing it. Background on screenshot for Mirage: (36, 43, 55). Background in ST3 3210 on Ubuntu 20.10: (31, 36, 48). Worse with Ayu Dark.
