I am looking into this - thank you for the all the details, folks.
Latest version of Awake (#32378) should introduce quite a few stability improvements, resolving this problem.

Thank you for the feedback. Awake is not designed to interfere with any of the application states (e.g., Teams, Skype, etc.).

Your starting point is running `powercfg /requests` to see what is keeping your computer awake. There's no way for Windows apps to force their sleep settings when something is keeping...
Closing this as it's out-of-scope for Awake.
