I updated the version and force pushed this with a better formatted commit message.

I resolved conflicts on this.

I am closing this ticket. The fix was finally applied in the 5.35.x and released in 5.36. Thanks for the report confirming this @KES777

@karenetheridge have you had a chance to fix MI yet? It would be nice to remove this special case behavior from the core.

HI @xenu, @jkeenan has asked twice about this PR, which is now very old. Do you intend to pick this up again or should we close it?
