No one reads dbg_msgs, we should probably crash on unexpected values instead of continuing in an undefined state.
That's exactly the argument why crashing is better than an undetermined (aka wrong) state. At least that was the argument when we enabled dbg_assert for Release builds too.

We should err in the other direction of course.
I don't think it fits well ingame. You can use `/timecp` to compare your times when racing against another player's. We could show the time cps on website maybe.
