Would also be worth investigating if lowering the `max_concurrent` setting in coredns has any effect on the node-local-dns usage spikes.

I started on this and have a [branch](https://github.com/elastisys/compliantkubernetes-kubespray/tree/david/add-helm-chart-for-rook) with some structural setup, feel free to use or base on this branch. I will not be working on this task anymore.

Maybe @cristiklein has some thoughts on this, I couldn't find your investigation document.
