I don't understand what you're asking for. You can already change the unit and value. Could you try and reword your idea?
Oh no that's not possible, one unit per entry, I don't think this will change. With milk ml and grams are pretty much equal though.

Someone reported that when the webview memory gets full it starts purging stuff. Perhaps that is what is happening in your case.
Yes playing around with the chrome app could be the cause. I'm not sure how to tell. Here's the original issue that reported this - https://github.com/davidhealey/waistline/issues/728
