If you tap on the calories in the diary footer you'll see a little progress ring.

Yeah I want to completely rework the footer area, but I'm not actively working on Waistline so it will probably be a while before it gets done.

Well I don't think it's something I'll ever get around to implementing, but I'll certainly leave the feature request open for someone else to tackle.

I haven't noticed an issue on my Pixel 6a.

You can fill it in whenever you like, I usually fill mine in the day before.
