Why not integrate something like https://github.com/recogito/recogito-js ? It looks like a significant portion of the functionality is already implemented.

What about integrating something like https://recogito.github.io/annotorious/ ? It looks like a substantial amount of functionally is built in.

It seems that there was a really old completed task on my caldav server that was malformed or something, because I deleted all of the completed/stale tasks and this issue...
