What overlap fraction is used in cleaned_intersect?

Regarding the function 'cleaned_intersect' in the venn_maker interface. What fraction of overlap is used? I cant read a definitive answer in the code.

It is possible to modify that fraction? ie the 'f' function in the intersect method?
