Probably needed if it's a realtime process.
I've been dreaming of having a commandline in the kernel for a while. The current implementation with systemd should suffice though... but systemd might be too big for some embedded...
This is bordering on going against the Linux philosophy of keeping things simple and turning this into a very lightweight telnet/SSH host... but trivial to add.

The docker binary exposes all the functions needed to do this without root access and without direct access to the docker paths. The current approach doesn't seem to be portable....
