Anyone working on it?

I have a really urgent demand for it on the company I'm working right now and may try to tackle this if it is possible.

Is there any contributing guidelines that I should follow?

Sure, do this. I think just follow the other examples, once there is pull request we also have CLA bot configured.

As announced by RedHat, centOS 7 reaches end-of-life on June 30, 2024, so this enhancement request becomes obsolete.
